Teacher of the Year info:
Mrs. Kathryn Standley was presented the Metro South Arts Council 2010 Fine Arts Teacher of the Year award on May 29 at Crestwood Court ArtSpace at Metro South's "World Music, World Art" event. Mrs. Standley is the art teacher at Crestwood Elementary in the Lindbergh School District. Mr. Scott Taylor, principal at Crestwood, says the artwork created by Crestwood students is second to none due to the exceptional work of Mrs. Standley. She inspires her students to excel in their individual work projects which are shared throughout the St. Louis area and have been on exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden as well as the Lindbergh school district board room and auditorium lobby. Mrs. Standley not only teaches art but also art history. She exemplifies the qualities that merit the Fine Arts Teacher of the Year award.
